While the city is reeling under pandemic, JD(S) leader and former counsellor K V Mallesh attack Mysuru DC Rohini Sindhuri for her spending on constructing Swimming Pool and personal Gym at her official residence. K V Mallesh alleges that the cost of this will be at least Rs 50 lakh and asked her to clarify which funds she has used to build it. He also added that DCs official residence is a heritage building which requires special permission and consultation before making any modification and additions. "This is an unnecessary luxury at a time when the pandemic is raging and clamor for augmenting medical facilities is high, the payouts for farmers including flood reliefs are pending, the administration could have at least purchased medicines or added beds with this funds," he said. Mallesh added that if public funds have not been utilized for its construction, the DC should come forward to clarify who sponsored it. "The DC is bound to clarify the funds utilized to construct it, if she is preparing for swimming competition let her clarify that also," said Mallesh adding that if she fails to do so, they will raise the matter with the court.
