Mysore University team developed new Covid test kit

With the help of researchers from the University of Mysore, and Hyderabad-based Lorven Biologics, team of scientist has developed a simple kit for testing Covid-19s. Using this kit, people can sit at home and check whether they have a Covid or not, the scientist KS Rangappa said in a press briefing here.

The kit will overcome the limitations of RT-PCR test. As it is developed by a government agency, it is cost effective also, KS Rangappa said. The kit will be sent to the Indian Medical Research Council of India for emergency approval, he said.
