In a tragic incident , two engineering students drowned when they went to a friend's house for a birthday party and later went for swimming in the river Cauvery at Tadimalangi in the district on Saturday. Police said the deceased were identified as Abhishek(21) and Lokesh(21), both hailing from Yalandur taluk, Kinakahalli village. The duo were studying at Chamarajanagara engineering college. They had come to celebrate friends birthday, and went for swimming later on and met the tragic fate. Police and fire force personnel visited the spot and search operation is on to retrieve the bodies of the students. Talakadu police have registered a case in this connection.
