VV Puram police station in Mysuru getting noticed by the kind gesture of its police inspector Venkatesh for setting up a library inside the police station. Inspector Venkatesh, a book lover by himself, set up a library at the visitor's room inside the police station to make people stay away from mobile phones at least for some time and generate the habit of reading books. With the advent of mobile phones, reading habits have diminished. This small library at the visitor's room gives both the visitors and the officers an opportunity to spend some time reading books. More than 300 books are available on the shelves. Visitors can read the book they want. Books on various subjects including Yoga, Health, Meditation, Pranayama, Lifestyle, Life of Freedom Fighters, Jnanpith Award Awarded books etc are available. Retired librarian Gopal Krishna has already contributed some books to the library. "It is a pleasure to have a small library at VV Puram Police Station. It is a good message for the staff and visitors of the station," said the city police commissioner Dr. Chandragupta while expressing his happiness over the noble gesture by inspector Venkatesh.
