No entry to Chamundi hills on Ashada Fridays

Fearing crowd on Ashada Friday, authorities restricted the entry to Chamundi Hill and Jwalamukhi Sri Tripurasundari temple at Uttanahalli during Ashada Friday puja.

The religious rituals should be performed only in attendance of temple priests, officers and staff, District commissioner said in an order.

The Auspicious Ashada month will start on July 9. Ashada Friday puja at the temples are scheduled on July 16, 23, 30 and August 6.

Apart from the restrictions on devotees on Ashada Fridays, the devotees are also barred from visiting the temples on weekend, Sunday and general holidays during this period.
