The central government has given the green signal to the much awaited Mysore - Bangalore -Chennai high-speed rail project survey and DPR. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told the Rajya Sabha that a survey and detailed project report of the Mysore-Chennai project is being prepared. The railways ministry is preparing the detailed project reports (DPR) for seven high speed rail corridors, these are: Delhi-Varanasi, Delhi-Amritsar, Delhi-Ahmedabad, Mumbai-Nagpur, Mumbai-Hyderabad, Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru, and Varanasi-Howrah. The Mysuru - Bangalore - Chennai high speed rail project will be one of the country's major projects. The train is expected to travel from Mysore to Bangalore in just 40 minutes. The travel time between Mysore and Chennai is expected to be 2.30 hours. The project is a 435 km proposed High Speed Rail line that will connect Chennai, Bangalore (Bengaluru) and Mysore (Mysuru) through 9 stations in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
