Aditya Birla Group to enter paints business with Rs 5,000 crore investment; First plant expected in Mysuru

Aditya Birla Group’s flagship company, Grasim Industries is entering into the paints business with an initial capital expenditure of Rs 5,000 crore over the next 3 years. The Company is planning to set up paint factory at Immavu village in Nanjangud taluk near Mysuru.

The total investment is of Rs. 2,500 crore and the project is planning at 80-acre plot at Immavu and is expected to provide jobs for many.

Representatives from Aditya Birla Group and a team of officials led by Joint Director of District Industries Department D.K. Lingaraju had completed their site visit and took stock of land availability, connectivity and other factors.

The project is expected to get approval shortly. The entry of Grasim in the paints sector will offer a wide choice to Indian consumers as the Company plans to introduce the latest range of paint products in line with global mega-trends.
